"In the absence of Shekhawat, BJP will suffer internal conflict and the party organisation would scatter... Only Shekhawat had the ability to hold the warring factions in BJP together," PCC President told PTI in Jaipur.

Pointing out, however, that Congress had defeated BJP even under the leadership of Shekhawat, who has kept out of party politics since assuming the office of Vice President, Vyas said, "The issue was not as to how much Congress would be benefited... It is how much BJP would suffer."

She said that Rama Pilot, party candidate and wife of late Rajesh Pilot, would tie down BJP state unit president Vasundhara Raje Scindia at Jhalarpatan Assembly constituency during the election as had been intended.

Asked about reported differences between the state Congress unit and the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Vyas said that there was no truth in them and that there was as much coordination between PCC and the Government as was required.
