JMM president Shibu Soren is to take oath as Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Wednesday and will face a confidence vote on the floor of the state assembly on September 1.

Asked about the composition of his ministry, Soren said "I and other colleagues will take the oath at 3:30 pm. In case, one or two MLAs miss it, they will be accommodated later)".
He was replying to a question whether he would announce the names of the MLAs who will be administered the oath along with him tomorrow.
Jharkhand can have a maximum of 12 members, including the chief minister, in the council of ministers.
To another question, Soren said his government would take the floor test on September one.
A Lok Sabha Member from Dumka constituency, Soren had yesterday staked claim to form the government and was invited by Governor Syed Sibtey Razi after he submitted a signed list of 42 MLAs in his support.
Jharkhand assembly has an effective strength of 81 MLAs.

{{/usCountry}}Besides the 17 JMM MLAs, Soren listed the support from allies Congress (nine), RJD (seven), United Goan Democratic Party-U GDP (two), Jharkhand Party (one), Nationalist Congress Party (one), Forward Bloc (one) and four independent MLAs --- Madhu Koda, Stephen Marandi, Harinarain Rai and Bhanu Pratap Sahi.
According to sources in UPA, most of the ministers would be from smaller parties of the alliance and independent MLAs.
