Weaver, 59, beat action heroes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to clinch the number one spot, with her role as Ellen Ripley in the sci-fi franchise Alien, reports the Daily Express.

The survey conducted by British cable channel Sky Movies saw Schwarzenegger taking the second place, while Stallone and Chuck Norris came in third and fourth, respectively.

Matt Damon, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Steven Seagal also made it to the top 10.
