Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday led the audience at Hotel Trident-Oberoi, hit by the audacious terror attack on November 26, in observing a minute's silence in memory of the terror victims.
Singh, who was at the hotel for an award function, requested the audience to observe a minute's silence as a mark of respect to victims of the tragedy.
"My heart goes out to families of those who lost their lives and also those who suffered injuries. I particularly wish to salute the bravery and sacrifice of the men of the Mumbai police and the NSG who laid down their lives fighting against this attack," the Prime Minister said.
"To the people of Mumbai, I can only say that we will spare no effort to ensure that their city does not suffer any such attack," he said.
Terrorists chose Mumbai as the target as the city symbolises free, pluralistic, dynamic and cosmopolitan India, he said.
"I was a resident of Mumbai for three years and I feel keenly the pain and anger of the city," Singh said.
