"PDP is suffering from crisis of faith with its patron publicly sending wavering signals,"Rana said at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan this afternoon to welcome new entrants from Bajalta area into the party fold.

"Mufti is a classic case of political opportunism, who feels proud in tracing his roots to Congress, proclaims having liking for Bharatya Janata Party and pretending to be the Messiah of the people of Kashmir,"said Rana.

He said the inherent contradictions, duplicity and allegiance to multiple power centres has exposed the PDP leadership. Without naming Cong, Rana said that those claim to emerge as the largest political party after election were undermining the strength of the National Conference and reflected their political naivety.

"National Conference was, is and will continue to be the premier party of Jammu and Kashmir with presence in state's all the three regions - Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh,"he said.

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Saif-ud-din Soz and other leaders had been claiming that the Congress would emerge as the largest political party after the next election.

He said that National Conference was committed to maintaining the coalition spirit but at the same time it expected the political class of the state to understand the truth, which might be bitter to them.

Rana said that unblemished report card of chief minister Omar Abdullah would drive the party to a mammoth victory in the elections.
