Brazilian sporting authorities have suspected Figuerense's Carlos Alberto de Oliveira for a year on charges of falsifying documents to shave five years off his age, media reports said.

However, de Oliveira could reduce his sentence by six months by paying a fine, said Rubens Approbato, the president of the Supreme Sporting Justice Tribunal that ruled on the case Wednesday. Approbato said that the winger had cooperated with prosecutors, identifying his agent Joacyr de Oliveira as the organiser of the fraud.
