With rampant power cuts crippling peoples’ lives, residents have started exploring options, thereby increasing the sale of solar geysers.

Further, people find gas geysers economical. The range of gas geysers is Rs 2,000 onwards, including installation, which does not exceed Rs 3,000.

Though solar heaters are comparatively expensive, residents feel once these are installed, they need not shell out further.

Some companies are also providing a guarantee of 10-15 years on solar geysers.

A solar geyser with 100 litre capacity costs between Rs 20,000-22,000 with the distributor giving a guarantee of 10-15 years.
