Son of Delhi policeman shot dead

A 35-year-old son of an ASI of Delhi Police was shot dead at Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad late Friday night. The murder took place several hundred meters from Vijaynagar police station, reports Peeyush Khandelwal.

A 35-year-old son of an assistant sub inspector of Delhi Police was shot dead at Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad late Friday night. The murder took place several hundred meters from Vijaynagar police station, near a liquor shop in Sector 9.

The victim’s father, Jwala Prasad, is with the Delhi Armed Police battalion.

The victim, Jyoti Prasad (35), was shot twice in the abdomen by four unidentified men. He succumbed to injuries before he was taken to the hospital.

The police have arrested Sonu Kumar, the man accompanying the victim during the incident. “We have arrested Sonu who is the main accused. Other points are being investigated,” SP (City) told HT. On other hand, Vijaynagar Station Officer Umesh Roria said two persons have been detained.
