Sonia condemns Mumbai blasts as dastardly

Condemning as dastardly and inhuman the serial blasts in Mumbai, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday night asked the Maharashtra government to apprehend the culprits behind the attacks immediately.

Sonia, who is also UPA Chairperson, spoke to Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and asked them to tighten security measures and ensure maintenance of peace and harmony. She also called for undertaking immediate relief measures.

Expressing deep grief and shock over the blasts, she appealed to people all over the country to "collectively isolate such elements from society".
