"Sonia Gandhi called a meeting of party convenors from each state in her room and discussed the issue of thin attendance of party MPs," a party source said.
According to sources, she has appointed two convenors for each state instead of one to ensure substantial presence of party MPs in parliament.
When the Right to Education bill was brought to the Rajya Sabha on Monday, it could be passed only with the support of MPs from the opposition who had substantial presence as compared to the Congress MPs.
