Sonia gets invitation to contest from Gujarat

Solanki has invited Sonia Gandhi, who resigned from Lok Sabha, to contest from Gujarat.

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Bharatsinh Solanki on Saturday invited party President Sonia Gandhi, who resigned from Lok Sabha, to contest from Gujarat.

Solanki said over phone that he would vacate his Anand Lok Sabha for enabling Gandhi to contest from there.

There are 12 Congress MPs elected from Gujarat and all of them are ready to resign from their seats for enabling her to contest from the state, Solanki said.

"I will feel honoured if she gave me an opportunity to vacate my seat for her," he added.
