The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday demanded the dismissal of the Uttar Pradesh government, alleging that it had been flouting the court directives on reinstating about 18 thousand dismissed constables in the state.
Addressing an election meeting in Ghazipur, party president Mulayam Singh Yadav accused the Uttar Pradesh government of ignoring repeated court directives for reinstatement of dismissed constables which, he said, amounted to contempt of court and demanded the dismissal of the Mayawati government for the same.
Yadav alleged that all the welfare and development works initiated by his government have been put to halt and instead parks and statues are being put up in a big way in the name of development and funds being misused for the purpose.
Criminals have taken refuge in the ruling BSP and also contesting elections, Yadav said, alleging that they were going all out in extorting money from people, including government officials, and not even desisting from murdering those not obliging them.
Yadav made an appeal to the electorate to vote for the party for a balance of power at the Centre.
