He will also inaugurate a 440 KVA capacity substation of at Motiram Adda and lay the foundation stone of the Encephalitis Research Centre on BRD Medical College premises.

Earlier, the CM’s visit was slated for January 19, but was postponed to January 23.

District unit president of the party Chandrabali Yadav said the public meeting in the city would be a historic one.

Hitting out at the Congress for trying to destabilise the Mulayam Singh Government, Chandrabali said Congress candidates’ defeat in recent elections had increased the worries of party leaders.

Yadav said tapping the phones of SP leaders at the behest of political leaders was immoral and unconstitutional.

Chandrabali said pro-people decisions of Mulayam Singh and his focus on all-round development of the State had caused embarrassment to other political party leaders. They had jointly launched an operation to defame the government and the chief minister, who is the son of a farmer, he said.

He said a writ petition against SP leaders regarding disproportionate assets was part of a conspiracy hatched by other leaders.

He said the youth was looking to the SP and said the proposed convention of the SP youth in Lucknow on January 29 would be a historic one.
