According to the police, a combination of fog, drunk driving and over-speeding has triggered the accident. Locals who rushed to the site after they heard a loud thud, said the driver, Prem Prakash was driving at a very high speed. Prakash sustained minor injuries.

The incident took place at 12:30 am on Sunday. "We heard a loud sound and could make out that some accident might have taken place. We rushed to the spot and found the car standing in a right angle," said a resident of Housing Board Colony, Sector 31.

Seeing the condition of the car, nobody thought the driver could be alive. However, the driver had a different version. "I was driving at 80 kmph when suddenly I saw a pig crossing the road. I tried to save it and lost the control," says Prakash.

However, eyewitnesses are taking Prakash's version with a pinch of salt.
