The axe may fall over half a dozen more newly recruited police personnel as the verification of facts and information mentioned in affidavits is going on.

It is to be noted that 370 police constables were recruited here at the district headquarters two months back and they were undergoing training.

However, when their affidavits and other certificates were verified, it was found out that around one and half dozen newly recruited constables had various cases pending against them in courts and FIRs were lodged against them in police stations.

However, these constables had mentioned in their affidavits that there was no case or FIR filed against them in any police station.

The defaulters included around half a dozen newly recruited constables from Itawah, four from Meerut and four from Gorakhpur and other districts.

On Tuesday when these constables came to know of their fate, they could not restrain themselves and burst into tears.

Meanwhile, Raja also directed the subordinate officials to step up the drive against miscreants. He has ordered to open the historysheets of new criminals and to close the historysheets of those criminals who had completed 75 years of age.

Presiding over a meetingto review crime situation, Raja directed to enlist new gangs of active criminals in the district.
