After registering a cakewalk victory over star-studded Arera Cricket Academy in semifinal, the St Michael’s players were determined to repeat the performance against Irani Green. After winning the toss, St Michael’s skipper Pervezullah decided to bat first.

The experienced Sohail Masood capitalised upon the opportunity to make first use of a batting-friendly pitch and scored runs liberally. With the help of a six and four hits to the fence, he scored 57 runs. Skipper Pervez also demonstrated good batting but was not lucky like Sohail. He fell short of his half century by two runs. He knock was studded with three sixes and five fours.

Impressive batting helped St Michael’s scoring 244 runs in the stipulated 30 overs. For Irani Green, Farhan scalped three wickets.

Chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony, Mayor Sunil Sood, presented the winner’s trophy to St Michael’s team. Congress leader Govind Goyal and others were present.
