On Friday itself, Udayanidhi moved the Madras high court, seeking anticipatory bail in the case. But, his plea was adjourned to December 7 by justice S Palanivelu. Stalin dismissed the charges as "vendetta politics".

"I will face the case legally. I had expected a case against me much earlier," Stalin told journalists.

"I would not ask for adjournments either," he added in an obvious dig at CM J Jayalalithaa who is also facing corruption charges.

Describing FIR as fraud information report, Stalin said it was the CM who had grabbed the land of the poor, near Chennai and at Kodanadu in Nilgiri district.

Stalin, his filmmaker son Udayanidhi and four others are alleged to have forced businessman N Seshadri Kumar to part with his property against his wishes at a lesser cost than the market price.
