The demand for Anna Hazare t-shirts has by far outstripped their supply. For, the stall at Ramlila Maidan which sells them has run out of stock.
Students, professionals, senior citizens, children, housewives — all have been flocking to this particular stall to grab a t-shirt. Though the organisers placed an order as soon as they ran out of stock, they were unable to get the same on Monday.
“Though we had ordered a large number of t-shirts, they did not last for long. We then placed another order but the new stock will reach us only by tomorrow,” said Pooja Mehra, a volunteer at the stall.
Priced at R120, the t-shirts have become a rage, especially among students. “We waited for two hours for the t-shirts, thinking that fresh stock will arrive, but it didn’t. We will now buy them tomorrow,” said Aneesha Singh, a student of Delhi University .
And it’s not just t-shirts that are popular among protesters. The vendors are making a quick buck with Anna caps, badges, flags and wrist bands too.
