ESPN STAR Sports will telecast live in Hindi all three matches of the Airtel Cup, the Indian leg of the India-Pakistan hockey Test series that begins on Friday.
The sports channel has signed Jagbir Singh as an expert commentator who will team up with Sunil Taneja to take viewers through the action.
ESPN STAR Sports will showcase the Airtel Cup in Hindi as a continuation of its efforts towards increasing Hindi presence on its channels. Telecom giant Airtel has been signed as the title sponsor of the series while Maruti Suzuki has been roped in as the associate sponsor of the series.
ESPN STAR Sports will telecast a 30-minute pre-match and a post-match analysis show for the series. ESPN STAR Sports' presenter Sujata Padhmanabhan will host the show with Jagbir Singh.
The first two matches of Airtel Cup will be played under floodlights at the Sector 42 stadium in Chandigarh February 17-18 while the third match at Jalandhar February 20 will be played in the afternoon.
The Airtel Cup in India will be followed by a three-match series in Pakistan. The Pakistan leg will be played at Rawalpindi (February 22), Faisalabad (February 24) and Lahore (February 26).
