Burman, Hall and Harlow won the coveted trophy, leaving behind other nominees like Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano (II Divo) and Jon Henry Gordon and Jenny Shircore for The Young Victoria.

Star Trek was directed by J J Abrams. It is the 11th film based on the Star Trek franchise.
