Anamika Khanna kicked off her Spring-Summer ‘07 collection on a rather quirky note. Inspired by The Botanist, the Kolkata based designer’s range consisted of fragile silhouettes with a 'touch me not with attitude' feel to them. The drapes were fluid with the use of sheer fabrics like silk chiffons, muslin, nets and soft cottons. The collection saw dresses in neutral hues like pistachio green, beiges, cremes, rose pinks, and whites and diffused gold. The ensembles comprised of juicy off-shoulder, tube dresses, empire cut dresses, textured shorts, wrap around shirts and dresses, mesh scarves, capes, shirt gears, etc.

Can you wear them? Yes, 40 per cent of the line could be worn but only as separates.

Critic’s corner Painted in subdued colours and floral printed blocks, the ensembles had a really plain Jane look to them. Also, some of the outfits were even ill fitted or maybe the wrong model was flaunting the right outfit?

Front row attendees Manish Arora, Malini Ramani, Hemant Sagar, Sunil Sethi and a few international buyers.
