Sub-committee of principals to take view

After a meeting between the state education department and school principals, a sub-committee of few principals has been formed to look into the viability and consequences of the 90:10 quota issue, reports HT Political Bureau.

After a meeting between the state education department and school principals, a sub-committee of few principals has been formed to look into the viability and consequences of the 90:10 quota issue.

With the state board declaring the SSC results date — June 25 — the government is under pressure to make its stand clear on the issue.

It is likely to make an official announcement in a day or two. Education Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil might consider an option of implementing the quota for the next academic year, after a public meeting with stakeholders.

Vikhe-Patil spent Wednesday at the high court with Advocate General Ravi Kadam discussing the quota issue.
