A submarine of the Indian Navy collided with a merchant vessel off the Mumbai coast on Monday in which the aerial radar tower of the undersea vessel was damaged.

But there was no human casualty, defence sources said.

The submarine 'INS Sindhughosh' collided with merchant vessel 'M V Leeds', 140 nautical kms off Mumbai coast in which the submarine's aerial radar tower suffered superficial damage, defence sources said in New Delhi.
There were 53 sailors on board the submarine but there was no casuaty in either vessel, the sources said.
