"I do not want to comment on the questions raised by Sudarshan on Sonia right now. I am of the view that his remarks don't gel with the Sangh's culture," Govindacharya said over phone from Varanasi.

Sudarshan's remarks has lowered the former RSS chief's stature and damaged the Sangh's image, he said.

Former BJP general secretary said that the Sangh had done the right thing by expressing regrets over Sudarshan's remark, according to its values.

"Sonia's foreign origin is still an issue in public but this issue was not for doing politics for power," Govindacharya said.

On the issue of aggressive Congress' posture over Sudarshan's remarks, former BJP general secretary said that he doesn't expect restrained and decent behaviour from the Congress.
