Suitcase at Chennai airport causes flutter

There was another scare when a man scaled a gate and ran towards the runway.

An unclaimed suitcase found in the domestic terminal of the Chennai Airport caused a quiver on Monday morning, airport officials said.

The trolley-suitcase was noticed by an official and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security was immediately informed.

The personnel then took the suitcase away to a safer place.

Meanwhile, another flutter was caused when a man, about 50, scaled a gate and ran towards the runway.

Suremdra Sekhar, an Apron Supervisor, overpowered him after a chase and handed over to the police, the sources said.
