Sumitra confident after uproar over Ola?s name

The hullabaloo in New Delhi over the candidature of Brijendra Ola, son of MP Shishram Ola, from the Congress from Jhunjhunu constituency has given confidence to BJP candidate and sitting MLA Sumitra Singh and she is campaigning among the voters.

The hullabaloo in New Delhi over the candidature of Brijendra Ola, son of MP Shishram Ola, from the Congress from Jhunjhunu constituency has given confidence to BJP candidate and sitting MLA Sumitra Singh and she is campaigning among the voters.

In a discussion with media persons on Wednesday Sumitra said that she was enthusiastic after joining the BJP and expected to win.

She said her campaigning was for the election. She has met people in Mandrela, Bajwa, Tigiyas, Badangarh, Govli, Kishorepura, Kyamsar, Padampur, Bhukana, Solana, Mehrampur, Chanana, Govla, Islampur, Makhar and Indali and would soon meet people of other areas in her constituency.

In reply to a question, Sumitra said that till now she had contested 11 elections and has won eight of them. For the first time in 1957, she contested from Chirawa constituency (now Pilani) on Congress ticket and won the seat. She then won the elections in the years 1962, 1967, 1972 and 1977 on Congress ticket.
