Contrary to reports that claimed she was suffering from various illnesses of serious nature, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ (AIIMS) autopsy report claimed Sunanda Pushkar was a normal, healthy individual.

The AIIMS’ medical board in its report submitted to the police on September 27, 2014, said that “Sunanda Pushkar was neither ill nor had any diseases prior to her death. She was a normal, healthy individual.”

The document said she did not have a cardiac problem and had a healthy heart, did not have hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis or any disease of the brain, liver, lung or kidneys.

“She was thoroughly examined for various autoimmune and connective tissue disorders and found to be normal. She was thoroughly examined for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) but did not have lupus,” the report stated.

A lot had been speculated about Pushkar’s health and that she was undergoing treatment for an autoimmune disorder and tuberculosis, etc., prior to her death, which the AIIMS report dismissed outright.

“None of the treatment documents of Mrs Sunanda Pushkar has mentioned prescription of tablet Alprax which was found at the scene of death,” the report states.
