Sundaram BPO arm launches JV with ETA

Sundaram Finance Ltd's BPO arm, Sundaram Business Services has formed a Joint Venture with the Dubai headquartered ETA group.

The 40:60 (SBS:ETA) JV would be known as Gulf Outsourcing Services Pvt Ltd and target the BPO market in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia with specific focus on the banking and financial services vertical, Arif Rehman, Director (Finance), ETA group told a press meet here on Wednesday.

The JV would open a full fledged office in Dubai soon, he said adding that the plan was to set up a BPO facility at the Dubai Outsourcing Zone.

T T Srinivasaraghavan, Managing Director, Sundaram Finance Ltd, said the footprint in Dubai would allow the JV to provide clients with a full suite of processing options including onshore and offshore capabilities.

ETA Setting as up a Rs 500 crore four million sq.Ft facility on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) here, the first phase of which would be ready soon, Rehman said.

The space would be taken up mainly by IT companies, he said.

Sundaram BPO would hire over 200 people this year, to take its headcount to about 700, Harsha Viji, Senior Vice President SBS, said.
