PEPPY HINDI playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan is of the opinion that singers too have to be creative to know different forms of music. They have to present themselves well at the same time to become successful in their career.
Sunidhi, who is in the city to perform at the second annual multi-city concert — Idea Rocks India —at Poddar Plaza on Saturday, told reporters on Saturday that like actors, singers must also have support system or godfathers in the industry.
“In my case I had my father running around and face all kinds of problems just to establish me as a singer,” said Sunidhi.
Sunidhi, whose voice is synonymous with item songs, claimed that being a versatile singer she has been singing soft songs for a while now.
The young singer said that she loves to surprise listeners with fresh and lively numbers and tries hard to maintain the fame she has earned. She said that the music directors team of Vishal and Shekhar is the most comfortable to work with.
Singer and composer Raghav Sachar, who was also present on the occasion, stressed that world music sound and natural fusion is the order of the day. Raghav is popular for playing 25 instruments at the young age of 25 years. Adept in playing western music, he remarked that tabla and dholak are always used in his compositions. He revealed that it is his long cherished dream to make an English album. R D Burman and Mohammed Rafi are his favourite singers.
Raghav’s third album (yet untitled) is due to release in April. “Experimentation and detailing is my style. I offer natural fusion in my compositions and try to sing in an Indian manner,” said Raghav. The talented singer believes that only unique talents could survive in the competition.

Idea Cellular circle head (Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) Sashi Shankar informed that the event began at Kochi on January 14 and would conclude in Jabalpur in March. Spread over 11 weeks, the event would also feature Laughter Challenge maestro Sanjay Keni.
