Congress nominee Rajkumar Patel's paper was rejected on grounds that he had not submitted the required 'Form A', which is an official declaration by a party about a person's candidature for a specified seat, in time.

The Congress has not fielded any other candidate in Vidisha, which goes to poll on April 23, nor has it committed to support candidates of any other party, almost extending a walkover to Swaraj.

Moreover, Swaraj is seen as a clear winner as nominees from other parties, including the SP and the BSP, do not have much clout here.

This is the first time that Sushma is contesting in a Lok Sabha polls from Madhya Pradesh. She has been a Rajya Sabha member from the state for the last three years.

However, Sushma does not wish to leave anything to chance as she plans to continue with her campaign as before.
