Swamy demands Chidambaram's resignation

Charging the Congress-led UPA government with failing to tackle terrorism, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy today demanded resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram and also wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to cancel his ongoing Bangladesh visit.

Charging the Congress-led UPA government with failing to tackle terrorism, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy today demanded resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram and also wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to cancel his ongoing Bangladesh visit.

"I condemn the blast in the Delhi High Court campus.. I demand that as a first step Union Minister P Chidambaram resign for his utter incompetence in dealing with the issue of terrorism.

The UPA government has failed to formulate a counter terrorism strategy," he said in a statement here. He said that terrorists 'have a goal' which have to be 'nullified.' He also demanded that the Prime Minister cancel his ongoing visit to Bangladesh.
