The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had devised a new online system of paying examiners, in which the fees would be directly deposited into their bank accounts.

However, owing to technical glitches, the system is yet to go online. Consequently, there has been a delay in paying the moderators. “We were not able to implement the online pay system this year due to some technical reasons.

Also, many teachers have not given us their account numbers,” said Sarjerao Jadhav, chairperson of the state board.

He added that the board has now started disbursing the remuneration manually, and teacher should receive their cheques in the next 15 days.

Around 60,000 Class 12 teachers were protesting against the state board by boycotting paper correction and exam duties. However, the strike was called off within 16 days and teachers finished assessment on time, allowing the board to declare results early.

He added that until last year, teachers were paid the day students got their marksheets.
