Tamil Nadu passes vote on account bill

The Tamil Nadu Assembly today passed the vote-on-account bill authorising the state government to draw money from the consolidated funds for first six months of next fiscal.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly today passed the vote-on-account bill authorising the state government to draw money from the consolidated funds for first six months of next fiscal.

The House also adopted supplementary estimates for 2009-2010 before adjourning to meet on April 5.

Assembly Speaker R Avudaiappan told reporters later that there would be general discussion on the state budget from April 5 to 9. Finance Minister K Anbazagan would give his reply at the end of the discussion.

The Business Advisory Committee would meet again on April 9 to prepare the schedule for the remaining session.
