Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal on Tuesday was admitted to Belle Vue Clinic after he suffered a mild cerebral attack. He is currently under observation.
“He was brought to the hospital at 4pm. An MRI was conducted and it was found that he has suffered a brain stroke. He is in the ICCU and under 72-hour observation,” Belle Vue Hospital official P Tandon said.
Pal, 55, was admitted twice in the past after his blood pressure had shot up.
Pal was recently in the news for threatening to kill opposition CPI-M workers and have their women raped if a single ruling party worker was attacked, a comment which drew widespread criticism and forced him to tender an apology.
