As is the story every year, taps are running dry in the already parched Gurgaon, despite promises of regular supply after upgradation by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda).

Residents complain they are not even being supplied tankers despite repeated requests to the department.

“Officials told us they are willing to supply tankers but we have not received a single one till now. Residents are now immune to this annual crisis,” KS Yadav, president of the Sector-14 RWA said.

“Water scarcity has been a problem every summer. There are no fixed timings or schedule which makes life difficult,” Amit Singhal, a resident of Sector 14 said.

E-block in DLF Phase 1 has also not been getting proper supply for the last three to four days. “We are sustaining without regular supply for quite some time now. The water situation is very bad. Authorities must take some action,” Nidhi, a resident of DLF Phase 1, said.

“Water crisis becomes severe as the summer season begins. We are getting less supply for the last few days. It is not enough for our households and we have to fill up buckets when water supply comes in the mornings or evenings,” Rohtash Jhangu of Palam Vihar said.
