Mercifully, fog does not stay in the city for many days. Still, we have made adequate preparations to manage city traffic during foggy days and nights. We will also increase deployment on need-base during foggy weather.

Why is there an increase in accidents during fog?

Poor visibility is undoubtedly the main reason. Besides, during fog, roads become slippery. One should be extra careful while driving on streets during fog. One needs to keep his eyes and ears open during reduced visibility to judge traffic that cannot be seen.

Do you think the fatality rate, which is so far the lowest in the last five years, may shoot up on foggy days?

No. This year, we are more careful and prepared to ensure that the fog does not bring any tragedy with it. Our target is to bring down road fatalities to zero this winter. All necessary measures will be taken for this.

What are the challenges that you face while managing traffic in this season?
