India's Tata group will submit a final proposal to Bangladesh in two weeks for its proposed $2.5 billion investment in that country but may move the projects elsewhere if the terms are unacceptable, a top official said.
Talks between the Tatas and Dhaka were stalled last week after negotiations over the price of natural gas, to be used in the projects, faltered.
"At the end of the day, if the package is not sufficiently attractive to take on this, then it is a relatively simple decision. There are other places where we can do similar things," Alan Rosling, executive director of Tata Sons, said in an interview on Tuesday.
When asked if the final proposal would include a higher price for gas supplied by Bangladesh for the projects, he said: "Well, there won't be ... we can't change the economics of the proposal."
