Former Olympic and world champion Taufik Hidayat will be the biggest draw in the second edition of the $120,000 India Open Grand Prix Gold tournament to be held in Hyderabad from March 24.
World number 7 Hidayat is returning to form after a spate of injuries and reached the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Super Series in January.
"We are expecting some more top players to confirm their entries by tomorrow (the last date of entry) since the India Open is one of the last chances to earn valuable ranking points for the World Championship in August," Badminton Association of India president, V.K. Verma, said in a statement on Monday.
The last date for the World Championship qualification is April 30 and the Asian Badminton Championship, to be played in Korea from April 7-12, will be the last major event for the top stars.
China, Hong Kong, England, Vietnam, France have also confirmed their entries for the tournament.

{{/usCountry}}New Delhi: The Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup polo tournament (12-goal) will be played from February 25 to March 1 at the Jaipur Ground. From this year onwards, the tournament will be played as a charity tournament in aid of the 'Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Centre for Development' (RVRSCD).
This year the championship is being contested by six teams --- Jindal Steel & Power, defending champions Elevation, Himalayan Horse, Horse & Wagon, Cavalry (Red) and Cavalry (Black). The players to watch out for are Ransher Singh, Abhimanyu Pathak, Adhiraj Singh, Simran Shergill, Lokendra Singh, Satinder Garcha, Gerardo Mazzini, Gonzalo Bordieu, Manupal Godara and Gaurav Sehgal.
