They handed over a nine-point memorandum to the vice chancellor, demanding to ensure payment of teachers under self-financed courses.
In a meeting of the teachers association held at the university guesthouse, teachers criticised the insulting attitude of FO SP Singh and sought his immediate dismissal from the post. They also demanded to start recruitment at lecturer’s post.
Jain said it was amazing that despite 11 allegations of financial irregularities against the FO, the university administration had not yet removed him from his post.
Several cases were pending against the FO who hardly attended office and his adamant attitude had generated serious resentment among the teachers community, he added. Continuing his offensive against the FO, Jain said the erratic attitude of the FO would create funds crisis in the university.
In the meeting, teachers of Science and Commerce faculty raised the issue of electricity supply and said the departments were facing hardship as there was no substitute arrangement for power supply and demanded that two generator sets should be established in the faculty to ensure round the clock power supply.
Abhay Jain said transparency should be brought in the allocation of flats to teachers and employees and damaged flats should be repaired. He expressed concern that there was no clerk in mathematics, chemistry and physiology department.
The teachers decided to hand over a memorandum to the chancellor. They also paid tribute to former Governor and Chancellor of the University Suraj Bhan on his sad demise. Prof TN Pandey, Prof AK Singh, Prof RD Rai, Prof AA Ansari, Anurag Deep and Dr Ganesh Prasad Pandey along with secretary of the association Chandrabhushan Ankur were present in the meeting.
