Software engineer Rajesh Gulati underwent counselling for domestic violence a month before he allegedly killed his wife Anupama and cut her body to pieces before hiding them in a freezer for nearly two months in their house here, police said on Monday.
Police produced Gulati (38), who is from South Delhi, before the chief judicial magistrate and got him on remand for four days. SSP GS Martolia said the body pieces were sent for post-mortem and forensic investigations. Gathering evidence from the tool used to dismember the body would be crucial, he added. "It appears to be a case of domestic violence. The accused underwent a session with a counsellor in September."
A police source said during preliminary probe the accused revealed he had killed Anupama (37) on October 17 after an argument. Two days later, he bought the freezer to stash her body. He also revealed he had dumped some pieces of her body in the area towards Mussoorie, the source added.
