Sidharth Mehran and Divyanshu, from GD Goenka World School, and Kuraan Anand of Pathways World School were killed on the spot after the Tata Indigo car, allegedly driven by their friend and school dropout Tapan Malik (19), hit a median and rolled over a number of times.

The impact broke the car into two. The three were students of Classes X-XII. Malik escaped unhurt.

The incident tool place near Shankar Chowk at 2.30 am when the friends were returning to their Gurgaon home in after attending a party in Delhi.

The parents of three students had moved court against Malik, accusing him of driving negligently and causing the death of their children.

Gurgaon police had booked him under Section 304 A (causing the death of a person by a rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide) and 279 (driving or riding a vehicle on a public way in so rash or negligent a manner as to endanger human life or likely to cause hurt or injury) of the IPC.

Mehran’s father Captain Parveen Mehran, a resident of Southcity Phase I, said the verdict was going to set a precedent for youngsters who hailed from well-off families and indulged into nefarious activities.
