Ahead of the all-party meeting called by the Centre in Delhi on Tuesday, pro-Telangana leaders on Sunday stepped up their campaign demanding that Parliament pass a legislation for creating the separate state and fix a time-frame for it.
At a massive rally of students mobilised here from all the 10 districts of the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, it was made clear that there was no need for adopting a resolution in Andhra assembly for the separate state.
At the rally held at Osmania University, the nerve centre of the agitation, activists and Naxal sympathisers, including poet Varavara Rao, decided to blocks rail tracks and roads on January 5 to obstruct traffic flow from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema areas.
The move is aimed at countering a similar bandh called in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions by activists campaigning for a united Andhra Pradesh. It will coincide with the talks the Centre will hold with eight recognised parties of the state.

{{/usCountry}}Rao said it was the right of people of Telangana to fight for a separate state and to free themselves from the “exploitation” of people from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the political face of the Telangana movement, left for Delhi for the Tuesday’s meeting.
Speaking to mediapersons before leaving for the Capital, Rao said he would push for an immediate Parliament resolution on formation of a separate state of Telangana.
