The companies dwelled upon sharing technical expertise and working towards growing the CDMA user base in India.

Leonid Musatov, chief marketing and sales officer, MTS India said the CDMA market was poised for a very exclusive growth.

Ted Bolerjack, global roaming manager, Sprint, said the companies were working to collaborate on facilitating better international roaming experience for customers.

This, Bolerjack said, required a synchronisation between both CDMA and GSM technologies.

The other factor that will play a key role is the fall of personal computers and declining laptop prices.

“The introduction of cheaper devices like netbooks, increased awareness level among the masses and the desire to stay connected on the move will help the industry grow,” said Musatov.

The data market has a huge potential in India with only 10% user penetration.
