Sachin Tendulkar was on Tuesday declared fit to play in the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka after making 'satisfactory progress' from a shoulder operation he underwent about four months ago.

"Tendulkar has been undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of team physiotherapist John Gloster and in the last five days has made progress satisfactory enough to make him available for the Sri Lanka series," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah told PTI.

"Tendulkar had a final assessment of his shoulder by his doctor in London prior to playing the matches for Lashings club," Shah said.

He added that "there would be no need for a fitness test" which the batsman was scheduled to undergo on Wednesday.

The Master Blaster had his right shoulder operated on by Wallace in London on March 26, soon after the third and last Test against the visiting England side. He missed the one-day series against England and the entire tour of the Caribbean in May-July.
