Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday hit back at BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and asked him to reveal the name of his wife Sunanda Pushkar’s ‘murderer’.Swamy had earlier questioned Tharoor’s silence in his wife’s murder case. He also said Pushkar’s death was tied to a controversy surrounding the Indian Premier League exposed when Tharoor was a Union minister.
Tharoor on Tuesday told reporters, “Who is he? If he knows the murderer, then let him tell the police?” Later in the afternoon, Swamy told a news agency that he had stated that Tharoor, not him, knew the murderer. “I don’t talk without evidence. When the time comes I will tell everyone,” he said.
A photograph of Tharoor with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar also surfaced on social networking sites on Tuesday and was picked up and shown by all news channels. The photograph was reported to have been taken in Dubai in June 2013 at an awards function.
