Residents of The Legend, a gated community in Sector 57, say that some basic errors in the design of the property and certain recurring civic issues have given a jolt to their lifestyle. Moreover, the concerned authorities' lackadaisical attitude has made life in the condominium anything but legendary, the residents claim.
"There are too many design deficiencies in the project. My entire house was flooded with water when the connectors of one of the taps came off. The material used is of a substandard quality and can barely withstand pressure," said colonel YK Wahi, a resident.
The residents say that the residents' welfare association (RWA) has left no stone unturned in bringing the problems to the notice of the maintenance agency, but the agency and the developer are only engaged in passing the buck on each other with no permanent solution in sight.
According to them, the water supplied to the condominium is not fit for drinking or any potable use. "The tap water looks like it is straight out of a drain. Such water cannot be put to potable use," said Madhu Rawat, a resident. Several of the residents have had to be hospitalised after consuming the water, the residents alleged.
The condominium, which houses over 500 families, does not have a properly functioning sewage treatment plant (STP) in place, say residents. "The entire basement stinks of sewerage leaks due to the STP line. Water drips on electric panels and a disaster is in the making," said Anup Gupta, another resident.

{{/usCountry}}The residents said that they have made repeated requests to both the agency and the developer to look into their problems, but the solutions have always been short-term. "We have been given access cards for security but they don't work. We have 15 guards while we were promised 30," said Smita Agarwal, a resident.
Asked about the residents' claims about the project deficiencies, Manish Agarwal, director of developer Clarion, said that all parameters regarding the design were addressed by the competent agency deployed. He added that there were adequate guards in charge of security. Agarwal said that the residents' demands keep increasing but they do not pay for maintenance. "It's news to me that the access cards are not working," he said.
