Brahma Chellaney in A yen for closer ties (August 9) rightly states that Asia’s rise as a decisive power on the world stage has ensured that the century-old Western dominance is on the decline. Closer ties between Japan and India will benefit the economic interests of both countries. India should forge a strategic relationship with Japan to advance our security interests in South Asia and beyond.
