Theft at house in Kasturba Nagar

UNIDENTIFIED THIEVES broke into a house in Kasturba Nagar while its owners had gone out of town for few days and made away with gold jewellery, cash and other valuables worth more than Rs two lakh.

UNIDENTIFIED THIEVES broke into a house in Kasturba Nagar while its owners had gone out of town for few days and made away with gold jewellery, cash and other valuables worth more than Rs two lakh.

According to information, Ganga Prasad Gupta a retired employee of Eveready Company, lives at house number 118 in Kasturba Nagar. He had gone to Maihar with his family on March 25.

While the family were away, unidentified thieves broke into the house and made away with 20-tola gold jewellery, Rs one lakh cash and other valuables.

The family returned this morning and noticed the theft. The matter was reported to the Govindpura police. The family told the police that the total value of the stolen items, including cash, would be more than Rs two lakh. Police have registered a case and further investigations are on in the matter.
