We’ve heard of tyres being used for many purposes, but this one beats them all. The groundsmen here at the Newlands keep tyres on the pitch covers to keep them grounded. Strong gusts of winds take the covers off but the tyres help in keeping them on the surface. Surprising that groundsmen still use elementary methods. But you’ve got to give credit to the groundstaff. They really worked hard to clear water from the ground after this morning's showers.
