The MIG police received information this morning that theft had taken place at 22-A Srinagar Annex, owned by Anand Sethia. The TI Basant Naik and the forensic team reached there. Sethia told them that they discovered the theft in the morning and found that the door leading to the roof terrace was open.

The thieves had most probably gained entry from there, after breaking the grill by its side. He said the keys of the almirah were kept in a key rack from where the thieves took the keys and opened the almirahs where the cash and jewellery were kept.

At the time of the theft the entire family was in the house. Sethia and his wife were sleeping in one room and his two daughters in the other room.

The police and the forensic team are finding it difficult to believe that thieves actually had entered the house. Forensic experts said that though the grill by the side of the roof door was broken, it appears that it was cut from inside, and not from outside.
